We sat down with Chauncy Horton, the owner of SNA Contracting, to get to know this commercial general contractor with offices in Nashville’s Industrious Gulch location.

Tell us about your company.

SNA Contracting is a quality driven contractor who understands the value of integrity. We perform several industry disciplines, including vertical construction, professional services, and heavy civil. However, our primary area of expertise is in highway, street, and bridge construction.

SNA builds projects for the federal government across the Southeastern region of the country and our primary customers are the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and the U.S. Air Force. In the last six months our company has increased revenue by 300 percent.

What makes you excited to come to work each day?

I love challenges and opportunities! The collage of variables that make up the construction world invite me to get up and get going everyday. I’m blessed with a great family and a great opportunity to make an impact in the world; that combination motivates me to give it my best every chance I get.

What do you love about your city?

Nashville is trending! As a recent transplant to the area I am in love with the motion and movement in this city. There is enough big city energy to make Nashville attractive and engaging, but there’s still enough southern charm to make it feel like home.

What is some of the best advice you have ever received?

While I have gleaned a lot of great things from a lot of great people, what comes to mind in this moment is a thing that my dad always says: “It’s not that heavy.”

No matter what happens in life, the thing is not fatal, and you will live to make the adjustment … and even if it is fatal, rest assured that the thing is not eternal. In short, do your best and don’t worry too much.
