Every single day, employee benefits company Lively helps workers leverage resources, remove barriers that get in the way of a productive workday, and do what’s best for their employees.
In the words of Michael Siegel, director of Talent & Culture at Lively, “Industrious is exactly the same way.” Lively’s modern approach to benefits pairs perfectly with Industrious’ modern approach to coworking.

Lively leads the charge in three pillars: exceptional customer support, with customer satisfaction ratings that are more than three times higher than the industry average, technology built for today, thoughtfully designed to be easy to use and dependable, and taking the burden off employers, offering education and resources. Simply put, they want to make employees’ lives easier. Their third annual Employee Benefits Pulse Check report identifies the key stressors on benefits leaders’ minds and what they need to combat them in 2025. That is their ongoing goal.
To make that happen, Lively employees need to be taken care of, too. The workplace is a big part of that picture.
Let’s rewind two years. Lively had already decided during the peak of the pandemic that they would transition to being “remote-first-minded.” It left their expensive lease in San Francisco bare, with ongoing challenges like providing amenities and stocking the kitchen. They were ready for a change. Coworking, and more specifically, Industrious, was on their radar.
When Siegel, alongside Lively’s VP of People at the time, toured Industrious’s Geary Street location for the first time, Siegel described it as clean, organized, and comfortable. They were ready to commit to their own suite. But they had specific needs pertaining to security working in the financial tech industry, including needing to adhere to set government security regulations, including frosted windows and secure WiFi.
“I appreciate how personalized, accommodating and flexible Industrious has been with us,” said Siegel.
The suite holds 20 people comfortably. With less going in from week to week, they had full reign to rearrange it for 15 people, which allowed them to put in two of their own phone booths. The majority of the time, the space is utilized by the executive team, while the rest of the nearly 200-person company works remotely from home.
With Lively’s level of membership with Industrious, they are able to take advantage of booking time at any location. They’ve taken advantage of this in other cities like New York and Boston. Lively believes in the benefit of coworking through and through, with its Portugal team having a coworking location there, too. Siegel says “If Industrious had a location there, we would be using that.”
Working with Industrious has helped employees in more ways than one. Siegel says that one of the best parts of working out of an Industrious is the employee experience wrapped in. We take care of the kitchen, we throw special events for members, and we make sure all technology is working at top capabilities.
“That’s part of my job, the employee experience,” said Siegel. “I don’t have to plan it or worry about it. Industrious helps me out.”
